ENGAGEMENT OF 35 NOS. FIREMAN IN MARINE
Deendayal port authority, a leading major port under the administrative control of ministry ports, Shipping and Waterways, Govt. of India, going to conduct Interview for engagement of 35 nos. Fireman purely on contractual basis for a period of 03 years in Fire Brigade Section, Marine Department from eligible and competent candidates.
Interested candidates, fulfilling the education, technical qualification and experience shall send their candidature in the prescribed format along with relevant documents as per the terms and conditions mentioned. The interview will be conducted based on the document scrutiny. The details of Date of Interview with list of eligible candidates will be hoisted.
Candidates fulfilling the following Qualification, Experience, and Age criteria are eligible for appearing for the post of FIREMAN as under
Note No. 1 :-The candidates fulfilling the above minimum educational qualification, technical qualification and physical standard will be enlisted for an Endurance test.
After passing the Endurance Test, they shall have to qualify the Swimming Test.
Note No 2. The Tests will be conducted as per the prescribed norms and conditions.
Remuneration & Terms & Conditions for engagement of FIREMAN :
1) The engagement of FIREMAN shall be on contractual basis for a period of 03 years one day break after 11 months with a provision to grant two more extension with adequate break in between each engagement, on satisfactory performance.
2) The FIREMAN shall be paid fixed monthly consolidated remuneration of Rs.31500/-.per month (Rupees Thirty One Thousand Five hundred only), which will remain unaltered for the entire period of contract.
3) Their service shall be made use of anywhere in the best manner as the DPA Administration considers it as essential.
4) Uniform & Safety Shoes :the necessary uniform and safety shoes will have to be arranged by the individual at his own cost and DPA will not make any reimbursement.
5) Uniform Articles: Uniform articles such as cup, cap badge, shoulder badge, lane yard with whistle will be provided by DPA
6) They shall be entitled to avail 12 Casual Leave as per the practice prevailing in the Port. In the event of absence from duty in excess of entitled leave, pro-rata amount from the remuneration payable shall be deducted for the period of absence.
7) They shall not be entitled to any other allowances or financial benefits during the above period of contract. However, they can avail the transportation facility by bus which is provided by the port to its employees from Gandhidham to Kandla and back on chargeable basis.
8) They will be required to work in rotational shifts for 6 days in week or will be posted in general shift as per the port requirement. The daily working hours shall be 8 hours. The weekly day of rest will be on the basis of roaster. For work of any weekly off-day/declared National Holiday in exigency, they will be granted a compensatory day of rest conveniently in lieu thereof and they will not be entitled to any other compensation, monetary or otherwise.
9) In case of journey performed for DPA work at outstations, he shall be entitled for TA/DA at par with employees of DPA.
10) The engagement of contract will stand terminated on completion of time of 03 years or if terminated earlier by the Port.
11) They shall neither be entitled to, nor have any claim for any temporary/adhoc employment in DPA during the contract period or after completion of the contract.
12) Accommodation – Suitable Port Accommodation will be provided, subject to availability, of port quarter, on application, depending on availability and payment of applicable License Fee and other charges, as per prevailing rules-FR-45A.
13) They will not be entitled/eligible for any type of leave during the contract period, except weekly rest days/closed holidays applicable to employees of DPA. However, they will be entitled to avail C.L. @ 1 day per month during the contractual period and the leave may be availed of with prior approval.
14) In the event of his absence from duty on whatsoever reasons, no payment shall be payable for the said date. However, prior intimation is compulsory before proceeding on leave/ absence, so to make alternate arrangements for posting of staff at port.
15) MEDICAL Facility: OPD facility at DPA hospital, to the incumbent and his spouse will be provided.
16) The Port will not be responsible for any kind of criminal or civil proceedings that may arise during the contract period, in any manner. The contract is liable to be terminated by giving a notice of 15 days by either side. The DPT Management can terminate the above contract without assigning any reason by giving 15 days’ notice.
17) The contractual engagement is subject to being found medically fit as per the requirement of DPA.
18) The contractual engagement is subject to verification of antecedents by the Police. If any adverse report is received from the Police, contractual services are liable to be terminated forthwith.
19) He will be responsible for the charge and care of DPA goods, stores and all other property. He will be accountable for the same.
20)He shall carry out the functions/duties assigned to him from time to time by the Superior Officers of DPA.
21)In the event of death of a person appointed on Contract Basis while in service, the balance contractual amount, due if any, against the work done, will be paid to his legal heirs, and no any other financial benefits will be given.
22) In the event of any dispute arising out of this Contract, the interpretation and decision of the Chairperson of DPA will be final and binding.
23) Court of Jurisdiction for any dispute will be at Gandhidham only.
24) The Port is authorized to amend/modify the above Terms & Conditions at any time to suit the requirement of the Port.

For post of FIREMAN :
1. Matriculate/SSC or its equivalent.
2. Diploma in Fire Fighting or equivalent from any Institutions approved by the
Government.
3. Experience certificate – Should have 01 year experience as a Fireman. The certificate should be on the letter head of Concerned Company/Firm indicating clearly the date of joining, date of relieving and total service rendered.
4. Caste Certificate (For candidates applying in SC/ST/OBC(NCL) category) issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format as stipulated by the respective competent authorities of State Govt./Govt. of India.
5. Aadhar Card/Pan Card/Voter ID (Any one photo identity proof to be attached)
SELECTION PROCEDURE : -
• The candidates applying for the post of Fireman will be initially shortlisted purely on the basis of merit only fulfilling the initial academic requirements.
• Endurance & swimming test will be held by the selection committee, following which final list shall be prepared. Candidate should know swimming and Height & Weight should be as per norms of the paramilitary force.
• No request from the applicants in above circumstances will be entertained.
HOW TO APPLY :
(1) The applicant shall apply in the prescribed format at Annexure – I available at Deendayal Port Authority’s and send the same duly filled / typed in along with recent passport size photograph affixed on the right hand corner of the application and self-attested copies of Certificates of education/ age / experience so as to reach the same on or before 10/07/2025 at the following address:-

(2) Deendayal Port Authority shall not be responsible for any postal delay/loss in transit in submission of the application within specified time. No request in this regard will be entertained. Incomplete applications or applications received late shall be summarily rejected.
Instructions:
1. Any canvassing directly / indirectly by the applicant may disqualify his candidature.
2. The candidature of applicant would be provisional and subject to subsequent verification of certificates / testimonials. In case it is detected at any stage of engagement or thereafter, that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms and / or that he has furnished any incorrect / doctored / false, information / certificate / documents or has suppressed any material fact (s), his candidature will stand cancelled. If any of these shortcoming(s) is / are detected even after engagement, his engagement is liable to be terminated.
3. No Travelling, Boarding or lodging expenses are admissible to the candidates for participating in selection process or for joining at place of posting (in case of selection).
4. Deendayal Port Authority reserves right to accept or reject any application without showing any cause / reason what so ever.
5. DPA reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for shortlisting for engagement.
6. DPA shall have no obligation to offer employment to contract employee during and / or after the completion of the contract period nor can they claim right for employment on the grounds of completion of their period.
7. The decision of Management will be final and binding on all candidates on all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance, or rejection of the applications, reservation, mode of selection, cancellation of the selection process either in part or full etc. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
